Let’s be honest….are you always kind? That probably sounds a bit patronising…But kindness takes various forms; compassion, sympathy, helpfulness. The Bible gives us a pretty good description of it: Be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another…Ephesians 4:32. These are all aspects of kindness, and because it’s written in the Bible, they’re all things that should be characterising our lives. And not only to each other’s faces. How many times have you talked about someone behind their back? I can tell you that I’ve done it more times than I’d like. How can we be kind to someone and then gossip about them? That’s not kindness as outlined in Ephesians. Kindness is a key thing that should characterise a Christian. Let’s all try to make that happen.
