Bible ABC’s- Inconsistent

Being inconsistent; it’s quite an annoying trait for someone to have, isn’t it? We hate it when someone is inconsistent in their job, grades, and most of all, behaviour. Being consistent in how we act and what we do is the key idea behind Matthew 23:2-4  “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.  Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.”

The Pharisee’s were telling the people to do what was right, but they weren’t doing it themselves. It’s the idea of ‘practice what you preach’. You can’t tell someone how they should behave, only to do the complete opposite yourself. That’s hypocritical. It’s really serious as a Christian. We can’t preach to people and be inconsistent in our behaviour. Consistency is key in the Christian’s life.
