I expect everyone here has had some kind of education, whether you went to school, were home-schooled, went to university, did an apprenticeship. And we’re still learning everyday, that’s the great thing about education. It never really stops and has so many different forms which we can use for the Lord. Learning a language may help you spread the Word in other countries, learning bricklaying may bring you to be of a practical help somewhere.
Education (or knowledge) is spoken about a lot in the Bible and in various aspects. For example, to study the Word of God is, of course, expanding our knowledge. 2 Timothy 2:15 says ‘Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.‘ I read that the Greek word translated ‘study’ means to give diligence. The Bible has so much to teach us; it tells us about history, science (don’t believe me? look at Job 38:31). The Bible is our ultimate study book; the one that guides us through life; our survival guide. Education from it is so important for our everyday lives.
